Population: 1,900

Location: S. of Moyale

The Sakuye are a small group and usually they are considered as being a sub-group of the Boran. They live on the border between Marsabit District and Wajir District (between the Boran and the Somali). They are similar to the Boran but maintain a separate identity. Like the Boran they are herders of camels and cattle and are nomadic due to the fact that they need to find water and grazing for their animals, since they live in an area which has little rainfall or good vegetation.

There is no church among the Sakuye and no active Gospel witness to this Muslim people.
